Whether delivered through a newsletter, weekly meeting, intranet, or blog, internal communication is essential to the proper functioning of a business.
Here are four good reasons to invest in your internal communication.
Communicate your values
Innovation, teamwork, customer satisfaction, or service quality: your values are the strength of your company… but only if your employees can name them and put them into practice! To achieve this, you need to provide your teams with concrete examples of how your values apply—by celebrating successes, sharing positive client feedback, or communicating about new initiatives.
An internal newsletter is an effective way to convey your company’s values. Its frequency depends on your available resources, but aim to publish at least once a month.
Facilitate knowledge sharing to improve productivity
When your teams share their knowledge and perspectives on ongoing projects, the discussion sparks productive exchanges. Valuable information held by individuals is shared with the group, leaving everyone better equipped to do their work.
An intranet where everyone can generate content allows knowledge to be shared quickly and easily. It can even serve as a go-to platform for answers to common questions.

Encourage interaction to boost creativity and efficiency

Listen to the needs to retain your talent longer
Communicating your company’s goals to employees doesn’t guarantee that everyone understands or applies them. Communication works both ways: listen to your teams, reach out, ask questions, and take their answers seriously. The more their needs are met, the more they will feel understood, respected, and committed to the company’s success.
Regular meetings can sometimes be demanding. Without eliminating direct exchanges, why not set up a form where employees can submit improvement requests to management?
