Giving the mic to local B2B companies

Our study took the form of a survey conducted at the end of 2023, with responses from 117 companies based in the province of Quebec. Here’s a quick snapshot of the participants:

  • All primarily serve a B2B audience and have at least 10 employees
  • Small businesses (1 to 99 employees) made up 51% of respondents
  • 68% of the companies surveyed have a marketing team of fewer than 5 people
  • Among those with 10 to 49 employees, 74% said they have just 1 or 2 marketing staff

The most-used B2B marketing strategies and tactics

Drumroll please… The most popular tactic in 2023 was social media! A whopping 92% of surveyed companies reported actively using social platforms — proof that they’ve become essential for communicating and engaging with clients. Additionally, 54% of businesses also invest in social media advertising, combining authentic content with targeted promotions.

But are the most-used tactics the ones that deliver the best return on investment (ROI)? And where are companies planning to put their marketing budgets in 2024? Get the answers — and much more — by downloading the full study (French only).

Marketing’s key role in helping Quebec businesses grow

A smart marketing strategy is essential for setting priorities and maximizing ROI, especially when resources are tight. One standout from our study? A multichannel approach. A large number of respondents use a mix of online and offline tactics. That not only boosts campaign effectiveness, but also ensures they’re present at key moments in the customer journey.

Our survey aimed to map the B2B marketing landscape in Quebec and provide businesses with the insights they need to refine their strategy. By sharing the results, we hope to spark conversations and reflection across the local B2B scene. Let’s keep the dialogue going: tell us what you think, or share the challenges you’re facing!
